The Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, founded in 1954, is a large-scale comprehensive First-class hospital of Grade 3. It integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation.
The hospital covers an area of 500,000 square meters and a construction area of 530,000 square meters. It has 1 outpatient department, 11 inpatient departments and 4 "intermediate hospitals"-rheumatism hospital, cardiovascular disease hospital, facial features hospital and diabetes hospital. There are more than 4500 employees in the hospital. As the second Clinical Medical College of Harbin Medical University, it has 3 doctoral degrees conferring spots of first -level discipline, 21 doctoral degrees conferring spots of second -level disciplines, and 33 doctoral and master degrees conferring spots of third -level disciplines.
In the hospital, there are 5,200 square meters of independent teaching building, 5,000 square meters of "National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center" and "National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center", 22,000 square meters of "clinical training demonstration base for general practitioner", 14,000 square meters of undergraduate apartments and 16,000 square meters of graduate apartments. Since the 12th Five Year Plan, 18 national planning textbooks and audio-visual textbooks have mostly been edited by relevant people of our hospital, and 12 textbooks are edited by our colleagues as associate editors while some other colleagues have participated in the editing of 47 textbooks. In the past three years, a total of 51 teaching projects above the city department level have been approved, including 1 CMB project; 19 teaching results above the city department level have been obtained; 94 national teaching papers have been published. Actively carry out foreign exchanges and cooperation, have extensive contacts with 26 universities and medical schools, including the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Miami, and the University of Toronto in Canada, and have carried out a number of scientific research cooperation.
